Greetings God’s Way Family!
We are so happy to have you all as a part of our family or group of friends; whether you listen in, call in, or support us in prayer, we thank God for you! As such, we’d like to share what we’ve been up to as a ministry.
This past weekend we had the honor of attending the Voice of the Martyrs Conference hosted by Calvary Chapel St. Petersburg, FL. Some of you already know that we are blessed to air the Voice of the Martyrs programs on our station through various minute spots as well as full weekend programs on Saturdays at 9:30am and 5pm, and Sundays at 8pm. If you haven’t yet, we encourage you to tune in and hear amazing testimoniess of the work God is doing in some of the most persecuted parts of the world. Once you hear it, you’ll have a taste of how awesome the conference was!
Some of us from the God’s Way Radio prayer team attended simply to show our support for the VOM ministries and to receive from the Lord. Knowing the grave attacks that the Enemy has been launching against the Christian church, especially in certain parts of the world, some of us braced ourselves for harrowing stories of slaughter and repression. However, despite the real violence against these followers of Christ, we got to hear first-hand testimonies of how the Gospel still prevails and spreads like wildfire. Each speaker emphasized the need for prayer and that our prayers are being heard! The very efforts that the Enemy uses to silence God’s Word has also provided opportunities to spread it further- just like the book of Acts! The people of these countries are so thirsty for the Word and the hope it provides that a single page from the Bible is like a cherished drink of living water in a spiritual wasteland.
We were so eager to bring back some interviews or recordings of the speakers that were present, but due to the hostility toward these front line workers, we needed to protect their identities by helping them remain anonymous. Nevertheless,
we collected a couple of quotes from the team that went:
“What impacted me was…the lady who wanted to go back to
her country to serve there because she felt a sense of drowsiness from American Christianity, and the realization of how detached we can be to what is truly going on with our brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the world.”
“It felt like a wake-up call…as if I’ve been living in this comfortable American bubble everyday until I heard the amazing testimonies of these Christians who are risking their lives and families doing what I am free to do everyday- reading the Bible and going to a church…and sometimes I neglect to do it! It made me wonder how I could share with others this sense of awareness and urgent need to pray for our fellow Christians around the world.”
“James 1:2-3 ‘My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials , knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.’ Going to the VOM conference showed me that though trials are never fun, we need to trust in God’s plan and take joy in them because that only means that God is doing a work in and through us.”
Well, you heard it family. We must pray without ceasing for our persecuted family around the world. Prayer is the greatest weapon we possess and it is the best way we can stay involved in the cause for Christ. To know how to pray more specifically, tune into God’s Way Radio when we air the Voice of the Martyrs updates and testimonies!
